What were the major details in this chapter?

Mr. Shears didn't accept that his new wife (Christopher's mother) wanted Christopher to live with them in the same house. They looked for a solution and they found one. I am so confused that a mother can prefer her husband before the own child. That doesn't go in my head. I never could do something like this and I wish that all people which think the same as Christopher's mother never will get children in their life. The father gave his best and will do anything for his son. He had made one mistake in his life - he killed Wellington. Christopher can't understand this and that's why his father has to suffer. His mother who had done more than one mistakes gets a new chance. Life can be so unfair. In this chapter you see how father can be the better mother and that the cohesion of the family is something important in the developmental time of children.

What were the major details in these chapters?

Christopher arrived to the address where his mother lives and he none was there. I felt so sorry for him and I thought that everything had been for nothing but later he heard his mother's voice. When he saw her he was really disappointed and he didn't want to give her a hug. She tried it with putting five fingers and he agreed with this greeting. He took a bath and went to bed until he heard a loud discussion in the living room. It was father's voice and he get sick again. The policeman offered him to stay with his mother or to go back with his father. Christopher was to scared to live with father and he decided to stay with mother. That was one of the saddest moments in the whole book because his father cried and felt so sorry for everything but actually his mother was this one who had made a bigger mistake (that's what I think).

Empathy

What would I like to happen in the life of some character and why?

I found it horrible that all the people didn't react in another way. They saw Christopher on the train station and his behavior wasn't normal and nobody talked to him. I know that he doesn't like to talk to  strangers and I know that he wouldn't answer but if we see people which need help we have to help them immediately. The policeman knew that Christopher was wanted and he lost him in front of his eyes. The man which saved Christopher's life when Christopher wanted to pick Toby up left him alone because he shouted at him. Christopher told the lady that he had a Swiss Army Knife and they kept distance. That's frightening that people are not courageous enough to help. I wished that anyone of them had called the police. We all do mistakes when we are scared but isn't that a big problem of all of us? That makes me feel angry and so sorry for the whole world.

He waited in the coffee shop and played puzzle to pass the time. After a while a policeman came to him and asked why he is waiting for two hours alone in a coffee shop. Christopher explained that he wants to go to visit his mother and the policeman showed him where he can take money from his father's cashcard. Christopher was scared of the underpass and he tried to think about other things when he went through the underpass. He entered in the train. He was all the time so scared that he made his pants wet and the policeman told him that there is a bathroom in the train. The bathroom was smeared with poop(shit). He felt so bad when he saw this and he waited in the bathroom until the train continued driving. The policeman found out Christopher is the wanted boy. He wanted to bring Christopher back home but Christopher was scared to see his father again.

Analysis

What do I think about the style of writing the author uses?

The longer I am reading the book the longer is every story taking. The author describes about hundred times how Christopher is feeling and what is happening in his head. I think that was possible at the beginning of the book but now it is going on my nerves and I overflew sometimes some parts because I know what will be written there. That's a pity because I actually liked this story a lot. Maybe it will change at the end of the story but now I am at a point which is really boring. Christopher decided to travel to London because he wants to live with his mother. One day is written in two very long chapters and that story takes quite long for my taste. If a author wants to do that he has to bring more interesting things and not by repeating facts. There are also the smaller chapters between the big ones during the whole book which are hard to understand because Christophers thoughts are not understandable sometimes and I hate that.

What happened after Christopher read the other letters from his mom?

Christopher fainted and fell asleep in his puke. He became very bad and dizzy. In the evening his father came home. His father was very upset and sad. He worried about him and asked him to take a shower. After that he wanted to talk to him but it didn't work because Christopher couldn't talk.
I felt so sorry for both of them. While I was reading the book I really felt how his father tried to explain him how sorry he feels for his son. Otherwise i felt sorry too for Christopher because he was shaking and frustrated. I couldn't imagine how difficult that is to receive letters like these. After all, Christopher decided to leave his home but he didn't know where to go. He decided to hide in the shed and he took food with him. I found it a little bit funny and not inappropriate in this situation. If I had been the author I'd written it more dramatically because it is a really sad story.

Prediction

What's going to happen when Christopher reads the other letters written by his mom?

Because Christopher's father had hidden his book, he started looking for it. He finally found the book in a shirt box in his father's room. Inside were letters addressed to Christopher. Christopher will probably read all the letters if his father does not catch him. When he takes the opportunity, he will begin to read one by one. Christopher does not believe in things that he can not see himself, he will probably stick to his mother being dead. He won't believe that his father has lied to him. He will try to find out if his mother really lives. I suspect that he is going to visit the address to be sure. It could also be that he writes her back first and waits to see if she reacts to it. Then he would have to write to her that his father does not give him the letters. So that his father does not find out that he has read the letters. The mother would have to send the letters to another address where he could pick them up, possibly to Mr. Alexander.

Prediction

How will the character of Christopher's father change?

Although Christopher has indirectly figured out what happened between Mr Shears and his mother. Christopher's father got angry with him. He grabbed him by the arm and shouted at him. Actually, his father is a very patient person, but he could not restrain himself in the situation when he found Christopher's book. They fought and Christopher hit his father so that he was bleeding. On Saturday, his father apologized to him and wanted to make it up with a visit to the zoo. His father told him how much he loves him and he would do anything for his son. Christopher is also aware of this, but he can not control himself if he feels aggressiveness. I suspect that after this incident, his father will talk to him about the whole situation which happened, because one day Christoper will find out everything.
I think his dad is a good person and he gets it baked without Christopher getting hurt.

Reflection

What does the text written in italics mean on page 89?

I love this sentence because it is TRUE! It means that you should always keep your head up and not to break your head because of the past. There will always be a light at the end and if there isn't any light you should keep going on. I think this sentence which Sherlock Holmes has written is inspired by Buddha's sentence: "The seeds of the past are the fruits of the future." Everything that happened effects our behavior in the future. We grow with all our experiences and it reflects our personality.
I'm a person who believes extremely in Karma and I always try to motivate myself by Buddha's inspiring sentences. Another Buddha inspired sentence, wich is equal to the legend of Sherlock Holmes means: "If you want to know who you were, look who you are. If you want to know who you will be, look what you are doing.

Analysis

What is the author's main message or purpose?

I think he wants to show us how difficult it is to be handicapped and I think he did that well.
The most interesting part in these chapters was when Christopher talked about his behavioural problems by himself. He knows about these problems but he can't change them. I personally have worked with people with disabilities before I started the BMS. They have also problems which they can't control. This internship which I had done, helped me to understand the handicapped persons much better. Actually I think that everyone of us has his own handicaps. Some of them are visible and some not. When I was a child I had the problem that everything had to be tidy and neat. My mother thought that it's a good personality and at first we didn't change anything. While the time was passing things changed. When we got guests at home and they'd put their drinking glasses on a place I didn't like, I was used to put them where I want. The therapy I had been doing for 2 years was a success. Now my mother wished that we had never changed that because now I am lazy but still ordinary. You could say that laziness is also a behavioural problem... We all have these!
Maybe Christopher can do also a therapy to reduce his behavioural problems. Well I know he can't be perfect cause nobody is perfect. I think his parents don't do that much for him. They've accepted his problems but nobody talks about his future.
